A Community Council Meeting was held on October 12, 2017 at Riverdale Elementary at 5:00 p.m.
Members in attendance:

Agenda Item #1 - Budget
Discussed budget expenditures in 2016-17 and laid out the plan for budget for the 2017-18 school year.
Agenda Item #2 - School Testing
Shared data gateway and school report card, looking at different grade levels, reading, math and science scores in comparison with our District scores and noted we are significantly lower in Reading, than the District level. We addressed what Riverdale is doing and how to get students to engage in the process of testing, as well as improving individual scores. We noted a lack of interest on the part of students as reported by a Committee member who was present during the testing process. The school is addressing the low Reading scores, by implementing a phonetics program K-6, classrooms reading more rigorous content and self-reporting of student improvements.
Agenda Item #3 - Sharp Survey
The Survey revealed some alarming results which are as follows:
- A - Lack of Community Commitment
- B - Use of Inhalents, E-Cigarettes is on the rise
- C - Increase in depressive symptoms
- D - Number of students contemplating suicide
Agenda Item #4 - Committee Replacement
Each Committee Member will attempt to recruit two additional members to rebuild involvement.
