Community Council Meeting Minutes

Riverdale Elementary Community Council MeetingTuesday, Jan. 30th· 6:00 – 7:00 pm

Jen and Brian welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Review and Approve minutes from prior meeting

Brian Hall

Brian motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Val seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Digital Citizenship

Alan Rhees

Alan is from the District Technology Department.  He presented information about Technology for Students and Digital Citizenship. He covered four areas of filters, monitoring, instruction, and parent instruction.

Overview the implementation of the School LAND Trust Plan

The Goals and Middle of the Year (MOY) data were reviewed.

  1. 66% of students will make typical or above typical growth on Dibels Composite scores.  MOY data shows as a school we are presently at 55%. Many strategies are being implemented to increase student accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.
  2. Have a 3% SEP growth in Math scores on the end of the year RISE assessment.

Overview the implementation of the Teacher and Student Success Plan (TSSA)

The goals for the TSSA are the same as the School Land Trust Plan. 

Funding goes for PLC’s aides, behavior aide, our school store, our school wide Roadrunner Tracker Incentive program, and other things that support the TSSA goals.

School Land Trust Plan Final Report is due on March 8th.

We filled out the School Land Trust Plan Final Report in a previous meeting, and Jen will  turn that in on the 8th of March.

Discuss School Land Trust Plan for next school year 2024-2025

Jen Thomas

Jen talked about keeping the same goals for next year.  Reading will still be emphasized.  Jen discussed the importance of reading and how it benefits students in all areas. Community Council approved the reading goal and funding for next year’s School Land Trust Plan.

Make recommendations to the principal about next year’s Teacher and Student Success Plan (TSSA)

Academic data discussion in relation to the current School LAND Trust Plan implementation and identify the academic needs the council will address in the upcoming school year
